The IDEC FT1A Touch now offers expansion capabilities…
You can either add analogue IO by using the “snap in” cartridges which provide 2 Analogue channels each or 4 digital inputs or 4 digital outputs (maximum of 2 cartridges can be fitted) or utilise the Ethernet port to connect to a SmartAxis Lite (or SmartAxis Pro) compact controller and access these IOs as “slaves” to the Touch screen “master”.
Expansion capabilities…
The Analogue expansion cartridges are available with 4-20mA / 0-10V input or a Thermocouple/PT100 input and also 4-20mA or 0-10V output and are easily configured using the IDEC WindOINV3 software (Automation Organiser). Including the 4 built in Analogue IO, this gives a maximum of 8 Analogue IO.
The digital expansion options provide either 24 IO (16 IP / 8 OP), 40 IO (24 IP / 16 OP) and 48 (30 IP / 18 OP)

The SmartAxis Touch (FT1A-C) is available with either a mono or colour touch screen and has RS232, RS485 and Ethernet ports built in, providing many communication solutions and supports Modbus TCP (Ethernet) and Modbus RTU (RS485)
The FT1A-C12RA (non-expandable) has 8 IP (of which 2 can be AI (0-10V) and 4 OP (10A/point relay), while the FT1A-C14RA (expandable version) has 8 IP (of which 2 can be AI (0-10V or 4-20mA) and 6 OP (4 TR and 2 AO (0-10V or 4-20mA)
